Complete Release

DENVER -
Metropolitan State University of Denver graduate Brandon Jefferson (Flower Mound, Texas/Lewisville H.S.) was named to the Denver Nuggets Samsung NBA Summer League roster on Monday. He is the first Roadrunner to play on any team directly affiliated with the NBA. Patrick Mutombo ('03) had a stint in the NBA's development league for two seasons, but was never affiliated with any team.

The Nuggets will play at least five games in the Las Vegas-based summer league that runs from July 11-21. They open play on July 12 against Toronto, followed by games against Chicago (July 13) and Utah (July 15). The final tournament games will be based on seeding from the first three games. Altitude TV will televise each Nuggets game and they will also be available on NBA TV.

Jefferson, who graduated from MSU Denver in May, is a 5-foot-9 guard. He led the Roadrunners to four NCAA tournament appearances in his career and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships as a junior and senior. This past season, he was named the consensus national player of the year in NCAA Division II after breaking the school record in scoring, free throws made and free throw percentage. He averaged 21.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals, while shooting 45.3 percent from 3-point range and 92.3 percent from the 3-point line. Jefferson led Metro State to the semifinals at the NCAA tournament.
