Denver, Colo.- Metropolitan State University of Denver head women's basketball coach
Tanya Haave announced the signing of five student- athletes for the 2017-18 season.
"We are very excited about the student-athletes joining our program for the 2017-18 season," said Coach Haave. "We have addressed our needs in the post area along with adding depth to our other positions. This group of young women will enhance the extremely strong foundation of players returning for the coming season and they "fit" our team culture well."

Erica Correa (Davie, Florida/The Sagemont School)
Â
Erica Correa (Davie, Florida/The Sagemont School) joins the MSU Denver family after two years at Lewis University. She appeared in 30 games during the 2016-17 season and averaged 3.3 points per game. Correa is a graduate from Sagemont School in Florida where she was a two-time captain and team MVP as a senior. Coming in as a junior, Correa will continue her major in sports performance.

"Erica comes to MSU Denver from a successful program at Lewis University. As a physical post player with post season NCAA experience, Erica provides an inside presence for us with collegiate experience. She is excited to get a new chapter in her basketball life started and we are equally excited to have her!"

Mikala Gordon
Mikala Gordon comes to MSU Denver from Colorado Christian University where she graduated in spring 2017. During her 2016-17 season with the Cougars Gordon averaged 12.5 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. Mikala will be competing as a red-shirt junior and will be pursuing her Masters of Business at MSU Denver.

"Mikala brings a competitive, aggressive attitude to the program. Going through some adversity with injuries her first two collegiate seasons, she has battled through that adversity and come out a much stronger player both physically and mentally. She also is an athletic and versatile player who gives us added depth at our small forward and power forward position."

Eleanor Jones

Eleanor Jones comes to MSU Denver after one season at the University of Colorado Boulder. Jones played in 12 games for the Buffaloes in 2016-17. She is originally from Ayr, Scotland and played her high school ball at Charnwood Academy.

"Eleanor is a long, athletic and versatile forward who will be able to play practically every position for us. Her experience in the PAC 12 at the University of Colorado will serve her well as she competes in the RMAC. Off the floor, she is a genuinely authentic person who will fit in perfectly with our team."

Losalini Katia
Â
Losalini Katia begins her Roadrunner career as a freshman from Wyoming, Australia. In high school Katia was named to the New South Wales high schools state team twice, including serving as the captain in 2015. She was also awarded the Pierre De Coubertin award in 2015 and was a team captain in 2016. She was a silver medalist with the NSW U20's Team at the Australian U20 National Championships in 2017.

"A big, strong post, Lini fills a big need for us inside. Having only played the game at a competitive level for just 3 years now, Lini's potential for growth is tremendous. She is also a hard worker with an infectious personality that will brighten up anyone's day!"

Mariah Schroeder
Â
Mariah Schroeder joins the Roadrunners after an impressive high school career. A 1,000-point scorer, Schroeder owns the Caledonia High School scoring record and was an honorable mention All-State selection. She is also a school record holder in three different events in track and was an All-State tournament team selection in volleyball. Schroeder plans on majoring in Biology at MSU Denver.

"Mariah is an athletic combo guard who will give us much needed depth at both the shooting and point guard positions. A standout 3-sport athlete in high school (volleyball, basketball and track), Mariah will benefit from being able to focus on just basketball so her ceiling as to how good she can be is very high. She also possesses a tremendous work ethic along with a positive attitude."
