  • Strong late-season push led to a third-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament, the best national-tournament showing in school history.
  • National tournament losses were both to eventual national champion Hawaii-Hilo, in pool play and again in the national semifinals.
  • Beat Nebraska-Kearney in the third-place match.
  • Team won 13 of final 18 matches.
  • The team overcame a slow start and having to forfeit six matches because of the inadvertent use of an ineligible player to go from 4-18 to finish 17-23.
  • Rallied to defeat Biola (Calif.) in the bi-district championship 6-15, 15-8, 16-14, 15-9.
  • Rallied to defeat Eastern New Mexico in the district championship 10-15, 14-16, 15-6, 15-5, 15-8, giving up only 19 points after losing the first two sets.
  • Second team All-American Mickey O'Donnell led the team with 179 kills and a .248 hitting percentage, with Academic All-American Connie Dirks right behind with 176 kills.
  • Carol Brown had 115 kills. Jodi Jaeger had 111 kills and hit .233 with a team-best 79 blocks. Dirks led the team with 267 assists, 31 service aces and 207 digs, one more than O'Donnell's 206. Sally Hinojosa had 216 assists.
