Dave Morgan spent 13 seasons as an assistant coach with the Roadrunners’ women’s soccer team, as part of the program’s wildly successful run that included two Division II national championships, eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championships, four RMAC tournament titles, and NCAA tournaments in each season while serving under Danny Sanchez (2002-07) and Adrianne Pietz (2008-14). During that time, Roadrunners teams were a combined 236-38-26 overall and 148-16-15 in regular-season RMAC play.

As a player for the men’s team from 1983 through 1986, earned NAIA All-Area first team in 1985 as well as All-Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Soccer League second team honors in 1985. Statistics aren’t fully available, but he scored two goals and had five assists for nine points in 1986, ranking 4th on the team in points and tied for 1st in assists. He also scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Regis that sent the Roadrunners to the NAIA district tournament. He played semi-professionally with the SISL/USISL Colorado Comets Soccer Club, where he twice earned a spot on the USISL all-star team.

Among his proudest moments was earning his degree from MSU Denver in 2009. He left MSU Denver in 2015 to serve on the staff of Sanchez at Colorado.
