Men's Basketball 1996-2000
DeMarcos Anzures finished his four-year career as one of the

most decorated players in Metro State men's basketball history, leading the Roadrunners to the school's first national championship in 2000 and setting numerous records along the way.
At the time of induction, Anzures held the record as Metro State's all-time leading scorer with 2,116 points. He also held records in field goals made (753), field goals attempted (1,622), 3-point field goals made (302) and 3-point field goal attempts (777). Anzures is second in career points per game at 19.5, and steals (271, a record formerly held by Anzures that was broken in 2004) at the time of his induction.
During his senior campaign, he led Metro State to the national championship after finishing as runner-up in 1999. As a senior, he scored 641 points, then the second-most in a season in school history. He broke the single season record for 3-point field goals made with 106 and 3-point field goals attempted with 256. Both records remain today.
Anzures scored 32 points in the national championship game, a 97-79 win over Kentucky Wesleyan to be named Elite Eight Most Valuable Player. It was his second appearance on an Elite Eight All-Tournament team after earning that honor as a junior in 1999.
As a result of his stellar senior year, Anzures was named NABC first team All-America and Daktronics third team All-America. In his career, he was a three-time first team All-RMAC selection.
