Men's Swimming & Diving 1988-91

Jeff Neary was Metro State's first dominant swimmer after the College joined NCAA Division II, competing for three years after transferring from the University of Wyoming.  Neary graduated with seven school records in the pool and was a three-time All-American.

Neary's sophomore season in 1988-89 earned him All-America honors as he finished sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Championships in 57.60.  As a senior in 1990-91, Neary earned All-America honors in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing fifth, and also in the 200 breaststroke by finishing seventh. His 200 time set a school record in 2:06.78.

His other school records were: 50-yard freestyle (21.52), 200-yard individual medley (1:59.66), 100-yard breaststroke (57.37), 200-yard medley relay (1:38.74), 400-yard medley relay (3:36.41) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.13).
