He was also an NAIA Outdoor Track All-American in the 5,000-meter run and in the 1,000-meter run.
At the time of his induction, he was the program's record holder in the indoor 2-mile run (9:07:01), and second fastest in the outdoor 5,000-meter run (14:15:94) and outdoor 10,000-meter run (30:11:16).
