Baseball 1984-86
Equipment Manager 1986-93
It wasn't so much what Keith Schulz did on the baseball field, but it's what he did off the field that has been so remarkable.
After playing baseball at Metro State for three seasons, Schulz worked as the department's equipment manager from late 1986 to the start of 1993.
After he left Metro State, he became the home clubhouse and equipment manager for the Triple-A Denver Zephyrs, a minor league baseball team.
When the Zephyrs left for New Orleans in 1993, Schulz took the job as the visiting clubhouse manager for the Colorado Rockies.
As a player at Metro State from 1984-86, he earned All-District 7 honors as a shortstop in 1985. Schulz batted .350 as a junior with 11 doubles and hit .324 with 10 doubles as a senior. He finished his career with 23 doubles, eight triples and 69 walks.
