TEMPE, Ariz. – Several MSU Denver men's and women's tennis players are included in the season-ending West Region rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Roadrunners' men, ranked sixth in the region in the season-ending computer-based list, had
Jeanloup Auzias ranked sixth and
Juho Kantola 14
th in the region singles rankings, while the doubles team of Auzias and
Billy McDermott ranked eighth and the team of Kantola and
David Kijak was ninth.
The MSU Denver women's team ranked ninth in the region.
Isabel Heras was ranked 18
th in the region in singles, while Heras and
Kinsey Fields were ranked eighth in doubles.
During the 2022-23 season, Auzias was 17-5 in singles, including 15-2 while playing at No. 1. Kantola was 19-6, including a 12-3 mark at No. 2. Auzias was No. 54 in the final national Division II rankings.
The Auzias/McDermott duo was 20-5, including 16-4 at No. 2, while Kantola/Kijak went 8-4, all at No. 1.
Heras compiled a 13-12 record in singles, including 10-8 at No. 1. Meanwhile, Heras/Fields produced a 15-7 record in doubles, including 12-6 at No. 1. Heras/Fields were No. 38 in the final Division II national rankings.
