The Metro State volleyball team (15-8, 13-3 RMAC) continued its home court dominance of UC-Colorado Springs with a 25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 25-19 victory, Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play at the Auraria Events Center. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Roadrunners over the Mountain Lions in Denver.
Three players reached double figure kills for the 'Runners, led by outside hitters Bri Morley (13 kills) and Amanda Cook (12 kills, 14 digs). Lisa Jones added 11 kills, three blocks and a .444 hitting percentage.
Metro State continued its pattern of a stong start, executing its offense very effectively in the first set with a team hitting percentage of .485. The level of play slipped in the next three sets, but the 'Runners were able to pull away late in the second and fourth sets to seal the victory.
Metro State hosts Colorado Christian, Saturday at 7 p.m. in its final home match of the season. The 'Runners are having a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the Metro State Food Bank.
