The Metro State women's basketball team (2-6, 1-1 RMAC) fell to Fort Lewis, 55-44, Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play in Durango, Colo.
The 'Runners started the game well, holding the lead as late as five minutes remaining in the first half. Fort Lewis went on a 12-3 run to finish the half and take a 29-22 advantage entering the locker rooms. The 'Runners managed to close the gap to three on a layup by Jasmine Cervantes four minutes into the second half, but the Skyhawks immediately responded and pushed the lead back to nine points.
Rae Bean led all scorers with 15 points and five rebounds.
The 'Runners will host Mesa State, Friday at 5 p.m.
