The No. 15 Metro State men's soccer team (5-1-1, 2-0-1 RMAC) used a strong first half to defeat Regis, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play in Denver, Colo.

Senior Ola Sandquist gave the 'Runners the early lead with a goal in the third minute off an assist from Ryan Brooks. Two minutes later the Rangers struck back with a goal of their own to tie the score at 1-1. The game remained tied until just before the half, when Kellen Johnson took a pass from Ri Armstrong and scored his fourth goal of the season.

Ryan Vickery recorded four saves to post his fifth victory of the season in goal.

The 'Runners travel to Lakewood to face Colorado Christian, Friday at 11 a.m.
