Roadrunners Fall to Thunderwolves

DENVER, Colo. - Sharaya Selsor posted a team-high 16 points for Metro State, but the Roadrunners fell short in a 63-54 loss to Colorado State-Pueblo at the Auraria Event Center.

Rae Bean scored six of the first eight points for the Roadrunners as Metro State jumped out to an 8-0 lead. Metro State maintained a lead midway through the first half until Rachel Espinoza's layup put CSU-Pueblo up 13-12 with 10:22 to play in the first stanza.

The Thunderwolves stretched the lead to 29-26 at intermission, but Metro State opened the second half with layups by Bean and Selsor to close the gap to one at 30-31. The Thunderwolves responded with a 14-3 run over the next five minutes to build a 45-33 cushion. Kiley Gill cut the lead to 58-52 after nailing a three-pointer, but the Roadrunners could get no closer as CSU-Pueblo closed out the victory.

Amanda Bartlett tallied a game-high 21 points for the Thunderwolves, who improved to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the RMAC. Bean posted a double-double for Metro State, finishing with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Metro State fell to 6-8 overall and 4-2 in the RMAC. The Roadrunners continue their home stand with a matchup vs. New Mexico Highlands Saturday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.
