DENVER, Colo. - Sharaya Selsor and Megan Sinclair shared game-high honors with 21 points each for Metro State, but the Roadrunners fell short in an 85-76 loss to Academy of Art University at the Auraria Event Center.
Five players scored double figures for the Urban Knights, who notched a season-high for points in their second win of the year.
Selsor hit her first of five three-pointers in the contest at the 17-minute mark of the first half to give the Roadrunners an 8-7 lead. AAU regained the advantage with KaUwila Lavea's jumper and the Urban Knights never trailed again. Lavea finished the game with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Rae Bean chipped in 18 points and a team-high seven boards for Metro State.
The Roadrunners travel to Western New Mexico Jan. 8 and return to the Auraria Events Center for a four-game home stand beginning Jan. 16 vs. Colorado State-Pueblo.
