Colorado Christian Holds Off Metro State, 71-68

DENVER, Colo. - Kristin Valencia (Moriarty, N.M./Moriarty H.S.) led Metro State with a game-high 16 points and 10 rebounds, but Colorado Christian held off the Roadrunners, 71-68, at the Auraria Event Center on Saturday evening. 

The Roadrunners had three tries at a three-pointer in the last :24 seconds, but were unable to connect.
Brittany Long led the Cougars with 15 points, while Bre MacBeth added 13 points. Three additional Roadrunners scored in double figures, including Brandi Valencia (Moriarty, N.M./Moriarty H.S.) with 15, Jasmine Cervantes (Johnstown, Colo./Berthoud H.S.) with 13 and Candice Kohn (Midland, Texas/Midland Christian H.S.) with 12. 

Colorado Christian improved to 10-8 overall and 8-3 in the RMAC, while Metro State fell to 11-8 overall and 6-5 in the RMAC. 

Metro State starts a four-game road swing, beginning with a stop at Nebraska-Kearney Thursday, Feb. 4. The Roadrunners return home Friday, Feb. 19 to face Chadron State.
