Metro State Opens RMAC Season With Road Win

ALAMOSA, Colo. -
No. 3 Metro State opened Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday with a 2-0 win at Adams State.  The Roadrunners moved to 5-0 overall this season with the victory, while the Grizzlies dropped to 1-4.

Madison McQuilliams (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) scored her first goal of the season at 18:22 on an assist from Ashley Nemmers (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) to put the Roadrunners in front.  Metro State continued to dominate the first half and out-shot ASC 12-3 in the first half.

Goalkeeper Alee Seehausen (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View H.S.) preserved the shutout at 65:04, stopping a penalty kick by Amber Drumm.  It was ASC's only shot on goal in the game.

Aleah DeGeneres (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) netted the second goal of the game unassisted in the 72nd minute.

Metro State will play at New Mexico Highlands on Sunday at 1 p.m.
