DENVER - Metro State built a 20-point lead early in the second half and cruised to a 67-56 victory at home over Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday. The first place Roadrunners improved to 12-2 overall and 9-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP fell to 6-8 overall and 3-7.

Metro State controlled the pace the entire game, forcing 21 turnovers that led to 34 points, while committing just 10, its second straight game with 10 turnovers.
The Roadrunners also enjoyed a 30-27 rebounding edge, despite the ThunderWolves shooting 51.4 percent from the floor and Metro State connecting at a 44.8 percent clip.
CSUP led early, but Metro State finally took its first lead at 14-12 on a layup by Evans with 13:09 left in the first half, and the Roadrunners led the rest of the game.
Paul Brotherson (Sydney, Australia/Westfields Sports High) capped the 8-0 run with a layup that put Metro State in front 16-12.
The Roadrunenrs took a 37-24 lead into halftime after comitting just two turnovers in the first half and forcing 11.
A dunk by Flournoy just four minutes into the second half gave Metro State a 20-point lead at 48-28, its largest lead of the game.
The ThunderWolves briefly cut the lead to nine at 50-41 with 9:31 left, but a dunk by Evans on the ensuing possession stretched the lead back to double digits, where it remained for the duration of the game.
Metro State will host UC-Colorado Springs at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
