PUEBLO, Colo. - Metro State earned a 2-1 overtime victory on Friday night at Colorado State-Pueblo when Michael' Ann Karas (Arvada, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) scored 4:20 into overtime. The Roadrunners improved to 11-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP fell to 5-8-1 and 2-6-1.
Karas took a pass from Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) and fired a shot past CSUP goalkeeper Savannah Thompson, who got a hand on the ball.
The Roadrunners initially took a 1-0 lead just 15:28 into the game when Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) scored on a cross from Allyn Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport H.S.).
The ThunderWolves tied the game just over a minute into the second half on a goal by Alicia Irwin, who bent a shot in over Metro State goalkeeper Danielle Quigley (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.). Quigley ended up with four saves.
Metro State outshot the ThunderWolves 19-13 in the game.
Metro State will travel to No. 21 Fort Lewis on Sunday.
