DENVER -
No. 18 Metro State shut out Colorado State-Pueblo 4-0 on Sunday at home as four different players scored in the regular season finale.  Metro State improved to 12-5-1 overall and 10-4-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP dropped to 5-10-3 and 5-7-2.

The Roadrunners also earned the No. 3 seed in the RMAC Tournament and will host CSU-Pueblo again on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Marc Herschberger (Westminster, Colo./Northglenn H.S.) opened the scoring on Sunday in the 20th minute, forcing a turnover in the box and flicking the shot over the goalkeeper.

The score remained 1-0 at half, despite a shot by Scott Grode (Gilbert, Ariz./Basha H.S.) hitting the post in the 30th minute.

T.J. Thiebaut (Pueblo, Colo./South H.S.), a Pueblo native, scored at 49:50 to push the lead to 2-0, taking a long pass from Dele Johnson (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.) and dribbling through three defenders for a breakaway.

Grode hit the far post again in the 64th minute on a touch shot from the top-left corner of the box, but finally found the net at 65:48, taking Brenden Hughes (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.)' pass from the right corner in the box near the right post, and firing past a diving goalkeeper.

Grode's header in the 76th minute was blocked, but Scott Crawford (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.) got an open shot the box off the rebound and scored his fifth goal of the season, a hard-drive blast from the top-left corner of the box.

Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.) earned the win in goal, playing the first 45 minutes and making two saves.  Issa Bissau (Denver, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) played the second half, but did not face a shot on goal.  It was his first appearance since Sept. 30 after missing a month with an injury.
