Women's soccer holds on for second straight win

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -
No. 6 Metro State held on for a 2-1 win on Sunday at Colorado Christian in Lakewood.  The Roadrunners improved to 8-1-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CCU fell to 2-7-0 and 1-4-0.

Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick at 18:57.

Aubrey Fondy (Arvada, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) pushed the lead to 2-0 with a goal at 61:50 as Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) earned the assist.

CCU scored its only goal of the game at 80:23 when Danielle Gershon found the net.  The Roadrunners did not allow a shot the rest of the game.

Danielle Quigley (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) made three saves for Metro State.  The Roadrunners outshot CCU 25-7 in the game.

Metro State will host Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday, Oct. 2, for its next game.
