Box Score NAMPA, Idaho - Cassie Lambrecht (Colorado Springs/Golden H.S.) scored a career-high 17 points as No. 24 Metro State won its second straight game 76-67 over Central Washington at the Fairfield Inn Classic in Nampa, Idaho. MSU improved to 2-2 on the season, while CWU fell to 3-1.
Lambrecht buried 7-of-9 from the floor and had three assists in 25 minutes to lead the Roadrunners. Two other were major contributors for Metro State as
Jenessa Burke (Aurora, Colo./Highlands Ranch H.S.) had a perfect night and scored 14 points and
Amy Nelson (Richmond, Utah/Sky View H.S.) recorded her second consecutive double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Burke made all six of her shot attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers, in only nine minutes on the court.
Kristin Valencia (Moriarty, N.M./Moriarty H.S.) contributed nine points and nine rebounds.
Brandi Valencia (Moriarty, N.M./Moriarty H.S.) and
Kya DeGarmo (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado H.S.) each scored eight points.
MSU shot a season-best 54.5 percent from the floor, including 8-of-17 (.471) from the outside. CWU was held to just 28.1 percent shooting.
Metro State led by as many as 26 points midway through the second half, but were called for eight more fouls than CWU and Wildcats converted 27-of-37 at the line to attempt a comeback, including 11-of-11 in the final five minutes.
The Roadrunners will face host school Northwest Nazarene on Saturday at 6 p.m.
