Men's soccer: Roadrunners upended at home by No. 19 Regis

Box Score DENVER - Two first half goals for the Rangers proved too much for the Roadrunners to overcome on Friday afternoon as the men's soccer team lost 4-0 to No. 19 Regis University.  The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 3-2 on the season while the victory improved the Rangers record to 3-0-1. 

Taylor Diem started the scoring attack for the Rangers in the 23rd minute with his first goal of the season.  Jason Boyle assisted on the goal as he crossed the ball from the left corner across the box to a wide open Diem in front of the goal.

The Rangers' second goal came with just under a minute to go in the first half as Ben Fredrickson scored on a ball that he flicked past goalie Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.) after receiving the pass from Justin Ortinau from midfield.  Fredrickson's goal gave the Rangers a 2-0 halftime advantage.

In the second half Adam Tormoehlen also added to the scoring for the Rangers as he scored his first goal of the season in the 54th minute.  Tormoehlen scored his goal on a header off a cross from the right corner from Alex Tarnoczi to give the Rangers a 3-0 advantage.

The Rangers added their final goal in the 68th minute as Logan Miller scored his fourth goal of the season on a penalty kick.  Miller's goal was the final goal of the game as the Rangers won 4-0 over the Roadrunners.

With the victory, Christian Nicolosi improved his record as goalie to 3-0-1.  The loss dropped Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.)' record to 3-2 on the season while he added four saves to his season total. 

The Roadrunners will be back in action on Sunday in Colorado Springs against UCCS at 11:30 a.m.  The Rangers will be back in action on Sunday  at home against CSU-Pueblo at 3:30 p.m.
