Women's Soccer: Career day from Farley and Rolph lead to 7-0 victory over CCU

Box Score DENVER- Metro State scored a season-high seven goals as it defeated Colorado Christian 7-0 on Friday afternoon.  The win increased the Roadrunners' record to 10-0-3 overall and 8-0-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The loss dropped the Cougars' record to 4-8 overall and 1-7 in the RMAC. 

Scoring for Roadrunners were Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) (10th minute), Brandi Farley (Colorado Springs/Pine Creek H.S.) (26th minute), Rolph (32nd minute), Marie Ipock (Los Lunas, N.M./Los Lunas H.S.) (53th minute), Farley (57th minute), Farley (72nd minute), and Noemy Polanco (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood H.S.) (75th minute). 

In the first half Metro State came out strong as it scored in the 10th minute when Rolph scored from the top of the box off an assist from Jordan Post (Spearfish, S.D./Spearfish H.S.).  The goal was Rolph's third of the season.

Then again in the 26th minute Metro State added another goal.  This time it was Farley scoring her seventh goal of the season off a shot from inside the box.  Farley's goal was assisted from Polanco.

Just six minutes later Rolph scored her second goal of the game in the 32nd minute.  Rolph's second goal was assisted from Farley.  It was the third time in her career that Rolph had a multi-goal game. 

The Roadrunners took a 3-0 advantage into halftime while outshooting the Cougars 19-3 in the half.

Coming out in the second half, it didn't take long for Metro State to add to its goal total as Ipock scored her first career goal in the 53rd minute.  Ipock's goal was assisted by Maggie Rojas (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka H.S.)

Less than four minutes later, Farley scored her second goal of the game off a pass from Rolph.

Metro State scored its six goal of the game in the 72nd minute when Farley headed in her third goal of the game.  Rolph and Carley Nelson assisted on Farley's third goal.  The goal game Farley her ninth of the season to lead the Roadrunners and was her first career hat-trick.  The assist from Rolph gave her first career multi-assist game.

In the 75th minute the Roadrunners scored their final goal of the game when Polanco scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Josalyn Martin (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.).  Martin earned her first point of the season on the assist.   

Overall for the game, the Roadrunners outshot the Cougars 35-7 including 14-1 for shots on goal.

Karisa Fernandez (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake H.S.) earned the victory in goal for the Roadrunners without having to make a save before she was replaced in the 67th minute.  Nicole Jablonski (White Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Northern H.S.) came in to make one save in just over 23 minutes of work.

Metro State will be back in action on Sunday when it hosts UC-Colorado Springs at 12 p.m.
