Alex Green (Peoria, Ariz./Cactus H.S.) averaged 6.14 digs in two matches last week, including a season-high 25 digs in a 3-1 win at UC-Colorado Springs on Friday.

Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) assisted on a season-high 48 kills at UC-Colorado Springs on Oct. 4.
•   Metro State earned a 3-1 win over No. 17 Colorado Mines on Sept. 27, its first win over a ranked opponent since a 3-2 win over No. 5 Central Missouri on Sept. 7 last season.

Lauren Quijano (Wildomar, Calif./Elsinore H.S.) was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Sept. 30 after averaging 4.33 kills and hitting .397 in two matches Sept. 27-28.

Alysa Heath (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Sept. 10, after averaging 3.81 kills and hitting .355 at the Western Oregon tournament.
•   Heath was named to the Colorado Premier Challenge all-tournament team after averaging 3.57 kills and hitting .270 in four matches.
•   Metro State has been strong defensively, led by
Alex Green (Peoria, Ariz./Cactus H.S.)'s 4.41 digs per set.
•   For the first time in school history, Metro State went to five sets in its first two matches to open the season.
•   It was the first time Metro State has won back-to-back five-set matches since 2011 (Oct. 21 & Oct. 22).
•   It was the first time Metro State has played in two five-set matches in the same day since Oct. 22, 1988.
•   Metro State is 8-6 in season-opening matches under head coach
Debbie Hendricks.
•   Metro State was picked second in the RMAC preseason coaches poll behind Regis.

Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) is the first freshman setter to play in a season-opening match for MSU Denver since 2008 (Darcy Schwartzman) and the first to start since 2006 (Stephanie Levi).
