No. 1 Metro State will open the 2013-14 season on Friday vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville in Pueblo, Colo., and will face West Texas A&M on Saturday. The games are part of the Al Kaly Classic hosted by Colorado State-Pueblo.

•    Metro State returns three starters: Brandon Jefferson (Flower Mound, Texas/Lewisville H.S.), Mitch McCarron (Brisbane, Australia/Genesis Christian College) and Nicholas Kay (Tamworth, Australia/Newington College).
•    The Roadrunners add two NCAA Division I transfers: Raul Delgado (Chihuahua, Mexico/Springville (Utah) H.S.) (BYU) and Will Sinclair (Lilydale, Australia/Lilydale Heights College) (Utah Valley).
•    Jefferson was named RMAC preseason player of the year.
•    Jefferson, McCarron and Kay were all named preseason all-RMAC.
•    The last time Metro State lost in the national championship game, the Roadrunners won the national championship the following year (1999 and 2000).
•    Jefferson led the team in scoring (14.8) and steals (2.2) last season.
•    McCarron led the team in assists (2.9) and was second in rebounding (6.6).
•    Metro State must replace All-America center Jonathan Morse (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.) (14.6 PPG, 8.5 RPG) and starting guard Demetrius Miller (Flint, Mich./Flint Central H.S.) (13.8 PPG)
