Metro State will open the season on Friday at home against Minnesota State and will face Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Notes:
EXHIBITION GAMES
•    Metro State went 2-0 in exhibition games this season.
•    Amy Nelson (Richmond, Utah/Sky View H.S.) was the leading scorer for the Roadrunners, averaging 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds.
•    Elena Velasquez (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia H.S.) averaged 11.5 points off the bench.
•    Fawn Brady (Grand Junction, Colo./Grand Junction H.S.) averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.
•    The Roadrunners forced an average of 22.0 turnovers.

DEFENSE AND REBOUNDING WINS GAMES
•    Metro State has a 78-17 record since Tanya Haave became head coach in 2010-11.
•    Defense, rebounding and taking care of the ball have been characteristics of the Roadrunners since Haave took over.
•    Here are the final national rankings in each category each season:
•    Scoring defense: 2010-11 (2nd, 51.4), 2011-12 (10th, 54.9), 2012-13 (14th, 54.4)
•    Rebounding margin: 2010-11 (2nd, +10.8), 2011-12 (1st, +12.8), 2012-13 (44th, +4.5)
•    Turnovers per game: 2010-11 (31st, 15.3), 2011-12 (18th, 14.3), 2012-13 (7th, 13.0)

HAAVE'S 100TH WIN
•    Head coach Tanya Haave earned her 100th career win on Jan. 4, 2013, against New Mexico Highlands.
•    Haave earned 36 of those wins at the University of San Francisco during four seasons there, but came to Metro State in 2010 and has become the fastest coach to 50 and 75 wins and has the best record through three seasons in MSU history.
