Volleyball: Metro State goes 1-1 on Saturday in Colorado Premier

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DENVER- Metro State women's volleyball went 1-1 on Saturday to take third place in the bronze division of the Colorado Premier Challenge.  In the first game of the day, the Roadrunners lost to Florida Southern 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) but were able to defeat Adams State 3-2 (25-23, 16-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-12).

Game 1
Against Florida Southern Metro State was unable to get on track on the offensive end as they hit only .064 for the match which was the lowest hitting percentage of the season.  They lost the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19)

Alysa Heath (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) led the Roadrunners with 10 kills. 

Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) had 25 assists in the match while Kylie Haun (Simpsonville, S.C./Hillcrest H.S.) led the way defensively with 11 digs. Alex Green (Peoria, Ariz./Cactus H.S.) added 10.

Game 2
In the second match of the day the Roadrunners had a much better offensive output as they hit .237. 

The Roadrunners were again led by Heath on the offensive end who had 21 kills. 

Lauren Quijano (Wildomar, Calif./Elsinore H.S.) added an additional nine kills while hitting .471 for the match.

Betty Van Lith (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle H.S.) had 40 assists for the Roadrunners filling in for Torr after she was injured in the first set. 

Green had a team-high 15 digs. Tiffany Harris (Dublin, Calif./Dublin H.S.) had a double-double with 12 digs and 11 kills and Haun had 12 digs again.

The win increased the Roadrunners to 4-4 on the season.  The Roadrunners will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Nebraska to take on Chadron State at 7 p.m. (CT) in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener for both schools.
