Box Score DENVER- The match between Metro State and Colorado State-Pueblo ended scoreless as both teams ended with only 10 players after each team had a member sent off due to a red card. The tie moved the Roadrunners' record to 4-1-3 overall and 2-0-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The tie brought the Thunderwolves' record to 1-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the RMAC.
In the first half, Metro State came out strong as it outshot CSU-Pueblo 16-6 but was unable to convert on any of its scoring opportunities.
In the second half, things started to intensify between the teams as three yellow cards and two red cards were issued in the second half.
Andrew Mejia (Littleton, Colo./Mullen H.S.) earned a yellow in the 54th minute for an aggressive tackle against the Thunderwolves.
Michael Jordahl (Denver, Colo./East H.S.) earned a yellow in the 63rd minute for talking and then picked up his second yellow of the game in the 71st minute for a late tackle and was sent off with the red card.
Geist earned a yellow in the 67th minute and Carlson earned a red card in the 85th minute each for the Thunderwolves.
In the second half, Metro State again controlled the pace of the game but was unable to score despite outshooting CSU-Pueblo 17-7.
At the end of the second half, the score remained 0-0 so the game went to overtime.
Neither team was able to score in either overtime so at the end of the second overtime period the game ended 0-0. In the overtime periods, both
Brenden Hughes (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) for Metro State and Thiebaut, for the Thunderwolves, earned a yellow card for their teams.
Keegan Hand (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley H.S.) had four saves in goal for the Roadrunners.
Overall for the game, Metro State outshot CSU-Pueblo 39-15 including a 13-4 advantage for shots on goal. Metro State also held a 11-3 advantage on corner kicks taken in the game. There were five yellow cards and two red cards given out for the game between the two sides.
