Box Score DURANGO, Colo. - Metro State saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday, falling 78-57 at Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. The Roadrunners fell to 6-9 overall and 5-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while FLC improved to 9-6 and 6-5.
After shooting 49 percent or better in each game during the streak, the Roadrunners cooled to just 32.8 percent shooting and were outrebounded 41-to-28. Conversely, Fort Lewis connected at a 58.5 percent clip, including 8-of-13 (.615) from the outside. The brightest stat of the night for the Roadrunners was a 9-to-17 turnover margin.
Tai Jensen (Troy, Idaho/Troy H.S.) scored a team-high 17 points off the bench and led the team with six rebounds.
Cassie Lambrecht (Colorado Springs/Golden H.S.) scored 14 points and
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) had eight.
Metro State fell behind 15-4 just six minutes into the game and was unable to recover as the Skyhawks led 34-20 at halftime.
FLC held a double-digit lead the entire second half.
Ashley Kuchar scored a game-high 20 points for Fort Lewis and went over 1,000 points for her career.
Metro State will host No. 5 Colorado Mesa on Friday at 5 p.m.
