COLORADO SPRINGS - Metropolitan State Unviersity of Denver scored a 4-point play with under six minutes remaining to take a three-point lead and hold on for a 66-62 win over Texas A&M International on Friday night in Colorado Springs. The Roadrunners improved to 2-1 overall this season, while TAMIU dropped to 4-1 with its first loss.
Brittany Curl (Absarokee, Mont./Absarokee H.S.) sunk a free throw with 5:22 left to tie the game at 49-49. After Curl missed the second attempt,
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) grabbed the offensive rebound and then sunk a 3-pointer for a 52-49 lead. MSU Denver did not trail again in the game.

Kaysha Fox (Tacoma, Wash./Woodrow Wilson H.S.) combined to make 7-of-8 free throws in the final minute to secure the win.
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) scored a team-high 15 points and had five rebounds, shooting 7-of-12 from the floor. Ohrdorf had 11 points and 15 rebounds, making all six of her free throw attempts. Erin McClaire made a pair of 3-pointers and scored nine points and
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) had eight.
MSU Denver held the Dust Devils to 36 percent shooting in the game and outrebounded them 47-to-33.
McClarie led the Roadrunners with seven points in the first half as they clung to a 24-23 lead at the break.
MSU Denver went on a 10-0 run early in the second half to lead 34-25, but the Dust Devils climbed back in with nine straight points to even the score at 34-34 with 13:26 to play. TAMIU led by as many as four points before the Roadrunners rallied.
MSU Denver will face Montana Tech on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
