Men's soccer: Season ends with 3-1 loss at No. 25 Regis

DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver was eliminated from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday after a 3-1 loss at No. 25 Regis University in the first round of the tournament. The Roadrunners ended the season with a 10-8 record, while the Rangers improved to 13-5. They will face Colorado School of Mines in the semifinals in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Friday.

Regis got out to a 2-0 lead 33 minutes into the game after goals from Zach Huff and Arnthor Kristinsson. MSU Denver answered back 24 seconds after Kristinsson's goal when Regis defender Joseph Terry headed a Roadrunners service into the net for an own goal.

The score remained 2-1 until Martin Maybin put the Rangers in front 3-1 with an easy one-touch shot in front of the net in the 6-yard box in the 64th minute.

Keegan Hand (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley H.S.) made two saves for MSU Denver.

The Roadrunners lose just two seniors in Hand and midfielder Makir Oropeza (Denver, Colo./C.E.C. Middle College).
