PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado State University-Pueblo overcame a six-point deficit with 2:22 left to rally for a 58-57 win over Metropolitan State University of Denver on Sunday in Pueblo. The Roadrunners dropped to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP improved to 6-2 and 4-0.

Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) and
Brittany Curl (Absarokee, Mont./Absarokee H.S.) each scored 12 points to lead MSU Denver. Jacobs also had nine rebounds and Curl had eight.
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) and
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) each scored eight.
Kaysha Fox (Tacoma, Wash./Woodrow Wilson H.S.) dished out six assists.

The Roadrunners dominated in the paint in the first half, outscoring the ThunderWolves 20-to-4 in the paint in the first half to lead 31-23 at the break. MSU Denver held CSU-Pueblo to just 22.6 percent shooting and outrebounded the ThunderWolves 24-to-16.

MSU Denver led by as many as 11 points and held a 48-38 lead midway through the second half. A 3-pointer by Paine put the Roadrunners ahead 55-49 with 2:22 left, but CSU-Pueblo's Ashley Piper answered with a 3-pointer of her own.

Jacobs scored a layup with 1:39 to go for a 57-52 lead, but the ThunderWolves scored the final six points, all at the free throw line. Piper's free throws with 30.7 seconds left provided the go-ahead point. She finished with 15 points and CSU-Pueblo was led by 19 points from Angie Moore.

MSU Denver outrebounded the ThunderWolves 41-to-33 in the game and held them to 32.7 percent shooting.

The Roadrunners return home on Friday to host Black Hills State at 5 p.m.
