Volleyball: MSU Denver gets swept by No. 3 Minnesota Duluth

Box Score DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver fell 25-23, 25-23, 25-16 to No. 3 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday afternoon at the Colorado Premier Challenge. The Roadrunners fell to 5-2 overall, while UMD improved to 7-1.

MSU Denver was led by Lauren Quijano (Wildomar, Calif./Elsinore H.S.) with 13 kills and a .650 hitting percentage. Kylee Hoagland (Mead, Colo./Skyline H.S.) had nine kills and Summer Greager (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian H.S.) and Kylie Haun (Simpsonville, S.C./Hillcrest H.S.) each had eight.

The Roadrunners hit .212 thanks to 38 assists by Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.). Defensively, Savannah Garcia (Platteville, Colo./Valley H.S.) collected 14 digs.

Minnesota Duluth hit .331 in the match and recorded eight blocks.

The Roadrunners led late in both of the first two sets, holding a 19-18 lead in the first and 15-12 in the second.

MSU Denver will face No. 5 Central Missouri at 7:30 p.m.
