DENVER - No. 10/24 Metropolitan State University of Denver cruised to an 85-41 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday. The Roadrunners improved to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while WNMU fell to 1-11 and 1-7.

It was the largest margin of victory for the Roadrunners wins Dec. 20, 2005, when they won 106-47 (+59) over Johnson & Wales.

Nicholas Kay (Tamworth, Australia/Newington College) scored 17 of his game-high 19 points in the first half, finishing 8-of-10 from the floor. He also had nine rebounds.
Obi Kyei (Sydney, Australia/Sydney Secondary College) had a career-high 12 points, hitting 8-of-12 at the free throw line.
Eric Rayer (Colorado Springs/Coronado H.S.) also scored a career high with 11 points, adding five rebounds and three steals.
Mitch McCarron (Brisbane, Australia/Genesis Christian College) had 10 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Bounama Keita (Saint-Louis, Senegal/Impact Basketball Academy (Fla.)) scored nine points and
DeShawn Phenix (Fort Worth, Texas/North Crowley H.S.) had eight. Keita also had seven rebounds.

MSU Denver shot 50 percent in the game, while holding the Mustangs to just 24.1 percent. The Roadrunners also committed just eight turnovers and forced 16, while holding a 49-to-33 rebounding margin.

MSU Denver led 46-16 at halftime, its largest halftime lead since a 30-point lead against Chadron State in 2012. Kay had 17 points and eight rebounds, shooting 7-of-9 from the floor in the first half. WNMU was held to 22.2 percent shooting, while the Roadrunners held a 29-to-12 rebounding margin at half.

Most of the starters sat for much of the final 15 minutes of the game.
