Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team tied Colorado Mesa 1-1 on Sunday. Both teams have identical records of 11-3-2 overall.

The game was scoreless after the first half. The Roadrunners struck early in the second half when junior Jeff Gillis (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) scored his fourth goal of the season in the 61st minute to put the Roadrunners up 1-0. The Mavericks posted a late goal by sophomore Trentin Atkin to tie the game in the 86th minute.

MSU Denver attempted 19 shots in the contest including seven shots on goal. Junior Hayden Rus (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) tallied eight saves on the day.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Friday Oct. 30 to take on Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. The game will start at 3 p.m.
