Roadrunners Prepare For Three-Match Homestand

News & Notes
Ranked Battle...
MSU Denver will face No. 18 Colroado Mines on Wednesday, October 28.  This will be the first time the Roadrunners have faced a ranked opponent since October 9 when they also faced Colroado Mines.  Colorado Mines entered that match at No. 17.  MSU Denver won the match 3-0.

Winning The First...
The Roadrunners suffered a 3-1 loss at Colorado Mesa on Oct. 24, 2015 after winning the first set.  It is the first time that MSU Denver has failed to win a match after winning the first set since Dec. 5, 2013.  In that match, MSU Denver fell to Regis 3-2 after winning the first set.

Snapped Streak...
The 3-1 loss at Colorado Mesa marked the end of a 10-match winning streak for the Roadrunners.  The streak was the longest since a 14-match winning streak from Oct. 5, 2010 to Nov. 13, 2010.

Get The W...
The win over No. 17 Colorado School of Mines on October 9 was the first win over a ranked opponent for the Roadrunners this season.

Torr Honored Twice...
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) was named the RMAC setter of the week on Oct. 26.  She tallied a total of 96 assists, 17 digs, and five service aces in matches against Westminster and Colorado Mines.  Torr was also named RMAC setter of the week on Oct. 5 after averaging 12.60 assists and 2.80 digs, helping the team hit .310 during a 3-0 week vs. Regis, South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State.

Picked Second...
The Roadrunners are picked second in the RMAC behind Colorado School of Mines.

Preseason Pick...
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) was named preseason all-RMAC.

Turning It Around...
This was just the third time under Debbie Hendricks that the Roadrunners have started a season with a 1-3 record.  In 2006 the Roadrunners finished 21-10, 14-5 RMAC and won RMAC Tournament to reach NCAA Tournament.  In 2007, the team finished 16-15, 13-6 RMAC and reached NCAA Tournamnet.

Hoerdemann Times Two...
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 19 after posting a hitting percentage of .657 for the weekend against N.M. Highlands and Western N.M.  Hoerdemann also earned RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 5 after averaging 3.40 kills and hitting .491 in three wins.

Smith Earns RMAC Honor...
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 12 after averaging 4.62 kills in road wins at No. 17 Colorado Mines and Colorado Christian.

Challenge Accepted...
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) was fifth among players in the Colorado Premier Challenge in kills per set at 3.69.

Fiatoa Premier...
Vasati Fiatoa (Las Vegas, Nev./Bonanza H.S.) was second at the Colorado Premier Challenge with a .354 hitting percentage and fifth with 1.23 blocks per set.

Tough Schedule...
Four of the team's losses have come to top-25 teams, including two top-10 opponents.
