Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Concordia (Ore.) 64-58 on Friday night.  The Roadrunners improve to 2-3 on the season while Concordia falls to 1-4 overall.
Sophomore
Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) led MSU Denver in scoring with 17 points. Â Stipanovich scored 12 points, dissed out two assists and grabbed three rebounds in the first half alone. Â The Roadrunners owned the boards with nine offensive rebounds, giving them six second chance points in the first half.
Junior
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) shot 3-of-6 from the three-point line, and scored 14 points for the Roadrunners while sophomore
Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) scored 12 points in the game.
The Holiday Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic will conclude on Saturday. CSU-Pueblo will face Concordia (Ore.) at 3 p.m. and MSU Denver will take on Southwest Minnesota State at 5 p.m. Both games will be played in the Auraria Event Center.
