Women's Basketball: Roadrunners Defeat Concordia (Ore.) 64-58

MSU Denver wins a tight game against Cavaliers

Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Concordia (Ore.) 64-58 on Friday night.  The Roadrunners improve to 2-3 on the season while Concordia falls to 1-4 overall.

Sophomore Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) led MSU Denver in scoring with 17 points.  Stipanovich scored 12 points, dissed out two assists and grabbed three rebounds in the first half alone.  The Roadrunners owned the boards with nine offensive rebounds, giving them six second chance points in the first half.

Junior Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) shot 3-of-6 from the three-point line, and scored 14 points for the Roadrunners while sophomore Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) scored 12 points in the game.

The Holiday Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic will conclude on Saturday.  CSU-Pueblo will face Concordia (Ore.) at 3 p.m. and MSU Denver will take on Southwest Minnesota State at 5 p.m.  Both games will be played in the Auraria Event Center.
