ALAMOSA, Colo. - No. 9/12 Metropolitan State University of Denver rebounded from a loss on Friday night to win 84-79 at Adams State on Saturday. The Roadrunners improved to 22-4 overall and 17-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while ASU dropped to 16-8 and 12-8 in the RMAC.

Nicholas Kay (Tamworth, Australia/Newington College) led the Roadrunners with 21 points and eight rebounds, making 9-of-10 free throws.
Jourdon Hunter (Denver, Colo./Kennedy H.S.) sunk 7-of-10 field goals, including four 3-pointers, and scored 20 points.
Mitch McCarron (Brisbane, Australia/Genesis Christian College) added 18 points and seven rebounds, shooting 6-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-5 at the line.
Sam Porter (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) provided 14 points off the bench and
Eric Rayer (Colorado Springs/Coronado H.S.) had nine points.

MSU Denver shot a season-high 58.7 percent in the game and made 24-of-28 at the free throw line.

Kay had 12 points and eight rebounds in the first half to lead the Roadrunners to a 43-28 lead at the break. MSU Denver started the game on a 13-1 run, holding the Grizzlies without a field goal for over five minutes.

MSU Denver led by double digits for most of the second half. The Grizzlies made things interesting late, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers in the a 58-second span in the final 1:35 to cut the Roadrunners lead to two. Hunter sunk two free throws with one second left to secure the win.

Juwan Buchanan led all scorers with 23 points for ASU.

The Roadrunners will host CSU-Pueblo at 7 p.m. on Friday.
