EMPORIA, Kan. - No. 6/17 Emporia State completed a three-game sweep with Metropolitan State University of Denver on Sunday, blanking the Roadrunners 9-0 in Emporia, Kansas. The Roadrunners slipped to 2-4 on the season, while ESU improved to 3-0.
Darryl Baca (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) highlighted MSU Denver on Sunday, going 4-for-4 with a double.
Jeff Levett (Parker, Colo./Chaparral H.S.) also had two hits.
Freshman
Julian Garcia (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.), who was nearly unhittable last weekend in his first career outing, was roughed up for five runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Ryan Baca (Loveland, Colo./Loveland H.S.) provided 2 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one earned run.
The Roadrunners return home next Saturday to face Sioux Falls in a doubleheader at The Regency Athletic Complex.
