Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team (20-3,15-0 RMAC) defeated Black Hills State on Saturday, October 29 at the Auraria Event Center on Senior Night to remain unbeaten in the RMAC.

Senior
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) led the Roadrunners to a first set win 25-17 with five kills and two service aces. Junior
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) added in five kills of her own for MSU Denver.

In the second set, Black Hills State started off with an early lead 10-6 but the Roadrunners fought back to take a 14-13 advantage. The Yellow Jackets would prevail 25-22 to even the match 1-1. Senior
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) had totaled 28 assists through two sets while junior
Jackie Lopez (Encino, Calif./Notre Dame H.S.) led with 13 digs.

MSU Denver would regain the advantage after taking the third set 25-20 over Black Hills. Sophomore
Santaisha Sturges (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) had 15 digs through three sets and seven kills to help out the Roadrunners go up 2-1.

The Roadrunners were able to close out the 3-1 win in the match taking the fourth set 25-20. Torr finished out with 53 assists and Smith finished with 14 kills on Senior Night. Hoerdemann led the squad with 18.5 points and a team high 15 kills. Lopez finished with 23 digs on the evening.

The Roadrunners will make their final RMAC regular season road trip to Colorado Mesa on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m. followed by at match at Western State on Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m.
