Grand Junction, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team (12-7-1, 9-4-1 RMAC) fell 4-1 in a penalty kick shootout against Colorado Mesa (14-1-4, 10-0-2 RMAC) in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference semifinal match.
The first half was an even battle between the two sides with neither side seeing a shot on goal. The game went into halftime scoreless.

Jeff Gillis (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) put the Roadrunners on the board just under two minutes into the second half. This was Gillis' third RMAC tournament goal and seventh of the season. The Roadrunners kept the 1-0 lead until the 61
st minutes when Luis Schraidt of Colorado Mesa scored from inside the box off a rebound to tie the game at one a piece. MSU Denver was out shot by Colorado Mesa 2-0 in the second half, but the score remained a tie at the end of regulation. Gillis led the Roadrunners with 4 shots in the game and Senior goal keeper
