Golden, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team (8-6-4, 6-4-2 RMAC) fell to Colorado Mines (18-2, 10-2 RMAC) 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference semifinal match.
An early goal proved to be enough for the Orediggers. Jaclyn Knott scored her tenth goal of the season just over a minute into the game off a cross from teammate, Acacia Oritz. Colorado Mines had the edge going into half with 3-1 shots on goal.
The Roadrunners fought to come back in the second half adding two more shots on goal and earning five corner kicks to the Oredigger's zero. However, the lone goal proved to be the difference maker in the game. Freshman goal keeper
Erica Torres (Bakersfield, Calif./Baskersfield High School) made two save in the game.
The Roadrunners will await the NCAA selection Monday, November 7 to see if they will earn a bid into the NCAA South-Central Regional tournament. The show can be viewed
