Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team will host Adams State on September 23 at 7 p.m. and Fort Lewis September 25 at 12 p.m. for the first home Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches of 2016.
MSU Denver is coming off a tough weekend of competition in which they fell to No. 5 Colorado School of Mines 2-0 last Friday and 2-1 to Colorado Christian Sunday. The Roadrunners fell to 1-3-2 overall and 0-2 in the RMAC.
On Friday, September 23, Roadrunners athletics will be celebrating MSU Denver Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. All employees and their direct family will receive free admission to the match. On Sunday, September 25 the Roadrunners will hold Youth Day, giving free admission to all fans 18 & under.
Adams State won both of its RMAC season openers. They Grizzlies defeated New Mexico Highlands and CSU-Pueblo 2-1 to improve their overall record to 5-1 and 2-0 in conference play. Fort Lewis also opened with two wins this past weekend defeating CSU-Pueblo 3-2 in double overtime and New Mexico Highlands 2-1. The Skyhawks improved to 3-2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
