Denver, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team (22-9) fell 3-0 to West Texas A&M (23-13) in the semifinal match of the NCAA south central regional tournament.
                
The start of the first game of the match was a clash between the two sides with several lead changes to begin the set. The Lady Buffs made a small break away at 15-11 and were able to maintain a lead over the Roadrunners, despite the Roadrunners making several close attempts at the comeback. 

MSU Denver was able to tie the score up at 24 to force the game into extra points, however, the Lady Buffs went on to score the next two to secure the 26-24 first set win.
 
The Roadrunners came out on fire to start the second game of the match taking an 8-1 lead.  However, the Lady Buffs went on a huge run holding the Roadrunners to just one point and scoring eight of their own to tie the game up at 9 and eventually take the first lead of the set at 11-10.  
 
The Lady Buffs carried their momentum to continue to extend its lead over the Roadrunners leading by as many as six in the second set.  The Roadrunners demonstrated a great fight to bring the score within one at 24-23, but the Lady Buffs scored the final point of the game to take the 2-0 lead.
 
The third set stayed neck and neck between the two sides. West Texas A&M were the first to break away taking a 24-20 lead and would go on to take the third 25-21.
 
The Roadrunners finished the 2017 season 22-9.
