Men’s Basketball: Roadrunners Move To 5-1 In RMAC

MSU Denver Defeats Colorado Christian 76-56

Lakewood, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team defeated Colorado Christian 76-56 on Sunday to move to 6-6 overall and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
 
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by senior Peter Moller with 18 points.  Senior Cameron Williams (Omaha, Nebraska/Omaha South H.S.) added 17 points and sophomore Allec Williams (Albany, Ga./Westover High School) came off the bench to add 17 points as well.
 
MSU Denver and Colorado Christian went back-and-forth in the first half of the game.  The Roadrunners trailed by five points after the first five minutes of the game.  MSU Denver was able to bounce back and take a one-point lead following a three-point basket by Allec Williams (Albany, Ga./Westover High School) making the score 12-11.  During the final seven minutes of the half, MSU Denver would go on a 14-4 run with Allec Williams (Albany, Ga./Westover High School) scoring eight points.  MSU Denver took a 34-26 lead into halftime.
 
The second half was dominated by the Roadrunners.  MSU Denver would slowly extend its lead in the game and lead 53-42 with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game.  Then, the Roadrunners would go on a 14-2 run capped by a layup by junior Ethan Eads (Modesto, Calif./Central Catholic High School).  MSU Denver led by as many as 23 late in the second half.  MSU Denver allowed only two field goals from Colorado Christian in the final 11 minutes of the game.
 
The Roadrunners will return to action on December 30 to take on Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo.  Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
