Lakewood, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team fell to Colorado Christian 88-77 on Friday, February 24. The Roadrunners fell to 16-11 overall and 12-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Cougars improved to 14-13 overall and 11-10 in conference play.

The Roadrunners were led by junior
Peter Møller (Værløse, Denmark/FalkonergÃ¥rdens Gymnasium) with 18 points and five boards. Senior
Brian Howard (Maywood, Ill./Saint Ignatius H.S.) added 17 points for the Roadrunners and junior
Cameron Williams (Omaha, Nebraska/South H.S.) finished the night with 12 points. MSU Denver shot 40 percent from the field on the night.

Møller scored the first five points for the Roadrunners putting his team up 5-4 an answer back from Colorado Christian.

The Cougars continued to answer back with a made bucket from downtown to take the lead, 7-5. CCU kept the lead for nearly five minutes. Junior
Sunday Dech (Perth, Australia/Churchlands H.S.) took the lead back for MSU Denver after a made layup to gain the lead 14-13.

Five straight points from the Cougars would regain the lead, however Howard would make strides for the Roadrunners draining one from downtown to cut the lead to 18-17 with 10:20 to go in the half.

The following minutes went back and forth between the two sides with the Cougars never losing their lead but never leading by more than four. Junior
Shane Fox (Colorado Springs, Colo./Doherty H.S.) kick started a 11-0 run for the Roadrunners scoring one from beyond the arch taking a four-point lead at 32-28.

The Roadrunners took the largest lead of the half with 2:41 remaining in the half at 40-28. However, the Cougars made a 8-2 run to end the half and cut the Roadrunners lead to six at 42-36 at the end of the half.

Møller led the Roadrunners at half with 14 first half points with Howard adding eight first half points. MSU Denver shot 42 percent from the field while CCU shot 53 percent.

The Cougars came out on fire, scoring one from downtown on their first possession, ultimately going on a 7-0 run to start the half and take the lead 43-42.

Despite a very close battle the Cougars kept the lead throughout the rest of the game with the Roadrunners fighting back.

CCU gained the home win 88-77.
