Salt Lake City, Utah- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team fell 60-57 to Westminster on Friday night. The Roadrunner fell to 11-10 overall and 10-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The beginning of the game remained close between the two sides. Westminster held the lead through the first half with the final field goal came with just over two minutes on the clock. The Griffins headed into half on top of the Roadrunners 30-23.
The second half was a tight battle to the end. The Griffins led by as many as 15, however, the Roadrunners showed a fight and with two minutes remaining brought the score within four. But the Grffins were able to run away with the 60-57 win over the Roadrunners.
Seniors
Cameron Williams (Omaha, Nebraska/Omaha South H.S.) and
Peter Møller (Værløse, Denmark/Falkonergårdens Gymnasium) led the Roadrunners with 17 points. Williams went 6-14 from the field and 4-5 from behind the arch. Møller shot 6-12 from the field and 5-10 from downtown.
MSU Denver will host Black Hills on Friday, February 2 at 7 p.m.
