Salk Lake City, Utah- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Westminster on Friday, January 26. The Roadrunners improved to 14-7 overall and 10-5 in conference play.
The Griffins had an upper hand over the Roadrunners in the first quarter ending the quarter on top 20-14. However, the Roadrunners fought back in the second quarter to cut the lead heading into the quarter down just one at 36-35.
The Roadrunners continued the momentum into the third quarter, outscoring the Griffins by two to gain the lead.
The strength carried into the last quarter of the game with MSU taking the lead and would go on to earn the 70-63 win over Westminster.
The Roadrunners were led by senior
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College), ending the night with 21 points and six rebounds. Senior
Mikala Gordon (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo H.S.) ended the night with 17 points and nine boards.
The Roadrunners will host Black Hills State next Friday at the Auraria Events Center at 5 p.m.
