ALAMOSA, Colo. – Adams State broke open the game in the final three minutes of the first half and early in the second half and earned a 91-73 victory Saturday night over MSU Denver in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball.
MSU Denver had moved in front 35-32 on a
Maris Colton 3-pointer with 3:24 left in the first half, but the Grizzlies responded with a 13-2 run to end the half for a 45-37 lead and then extended the run to 33-6 by scoring 20 of the first 24 points of the second half.
Down 65-41, MSU Denver could never fully recover and dropped to 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the RMAC. Adams State improved to 4-10 and 3-4.
Demetrius Jackson scored 13 points to lead MSU Denver, while
Christian Wilson-Poole had 12 points and a season-high six rebounds.
Kendall McIntosh scored 11.
"Give Adams State all the credit," Metropolitan State University of Denver coach
Michael Bahl said. "They beat us in every facet of the game. Coach (Russ) Caton has done a great job with his team."
MSU Denver returns home Friday to face Nos. 13 and 5 Dixie State in a 7:30 p.m. game at the Auraria Event Center.
