On This Date in Roadrunners Athletics History, April 2, 2011, MSU Denver baseball swept Regis in a doubleheader, 11-0 & 4-3. Bradshaw Perry tossed a five-hit shutout in the seven-inning opener.

On This Date (April 2, 2011): Perry Starts Roadrunners Up in Sweep of Regis

After Perry's shutout, MSU Denver cuffs future major league pitcher

DENVER – Nine years ago today, Bradshaw Perry pitched a five-hit shutout in the seven-inning opener for an 11-0 win, then MSU Denver tagged future major league pitcher Steve Brault for four runs on 10 hits in five innings to win the nightcap 4-3 in a sweep of Regis. Zach Krueger had two doubles and a homer off Brault.
 
That day highlights our latest installment of "On This Date in Roadrunners History," which looks back at the biggest accomplishments in MSU Denver athletics on that particular calendar day.

2017 – Hunter Donaldson's two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning lifted MSU Denver to a 7-6 victory over Regis in the second game of a baseball doubleheader.
 
2017 – Annika Anderson was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homer and four RBIs as MSU Denver beat Regis 11-3 in the second game of a softball doubleheader. Anderson was 1-for-3 in the opener, a 6-2 defeat.
 
2016 – Ryan Baca took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and settled for a seven-inning, complete-game, three-hit shutout while striking out 11 in a 4-0 victory over Regis in the second game of a baseball doubleheader. Regis won the opener 1-0 against sophomore Javi Vega, who gave up only an unearned run on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
 
2014 – Josh Graetz set a program record with his 10th straight victory at No. 1 singles – a 6-1, 6-0 decision against Filip Bogic – as the MSU Denver men's tennis team defeated No. 47 Lindenwood (Mo.) 5-4.
 
2010 – No. 10 MSU Denver swept Colorado School of Mines 10-1 (five innings) and 7-1 in a softball doubleheader, stretching its winning streak to seven games while improving to 23-2 overall and 20-1 in the RMAC. Christie Robinson (9-1) and Brittany Moss (6-1) each pitched complete game victories.
 
2010 – Evan Claus delivered a pinch-hit, walk-off, two-run homer to start MSU Denver on its way to a sweep of a baseball doubleheader against CSU-Pueblo, 9-7 and 6-5.
 
2006 – Reece Gorman was 5-for-5 with two RBIs as MSU Denver picked up a 14-4 baseball victory over Nebraska-Kearney.
 
2003 – Brian Edwards was 6-for-7 overall and hit a homer in each game as MSU Denver split a baseball doubleheader with Northern Colorado, losing the opener 15-14 before bouncing back to win 11-10 in the nightcap.
 
1989 – Diana Pacheco got two wins after pitching two no-hit innings of relief in the first game, and then twirling a one-hit shutout in the second game as MSU Denver picked up softball victories over Humboldt State (Calif.) and UC Davis. The Roadrunners won the opener 7-2 in nine innings, then shut out UC Davis 4-0. Nancy Kogle powered the offense, going 5-for-8 overall while supplying a triple in each game. The Roadrunners played a third game that day, falling to Cal State Northridge 11-1.
 
1986 – The MSU Denver baseball team powered past Colorado School of Mines, sweeping a doubleheader 10-0 and 20-10. Ronn Wells led the Roadrunners that season with a .369 average while adding nine homers and 58 RBIs. John Wilkinson was 9-3 on the mound with a 3.86 ERA.
